LIVINGSTON STREET
Tewksbury, Massachusetts

.

In 2003, Cuoco & Cormier was awarded the ACE Award for Engineering Excellence by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Massachusetts. This award was given in recognition of the innovative design created by our staff for the reconstruction of Livingston Street in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. During this effort, our staff incorporated the use of shredded tires as base material for the roadway. This approach allowed the Town of Tewksbury to reduce construction costs by utilizing a readily available waste product that would otherwise have been sent to a landfill or incinerator.

The use of recycled materials also enabled the community to qualify for outside funding to support the use of recycled products during roadway reconstruction. This funding represented an additional cost savings for the community. This forward thinking enables us to envision non-traditional solutions that benefit both the client and the community..
